Horace Emery, CPA, graduated in 1978 from West Virginia University with a masters of business administration degree with an emphasis in accounting, and in 1972 from Oberlin College with a bachelor of arts degree. He is a certified public accountant having received certificate number 1144 from the State of West Virginia in 1979 passing the exam at first sitting.
Horace began his public accounting career in 1978, joining the West Virginia office of a national accounting firm that ultimately merged with KPMG. In 1988, Horace began his employment with Suttle & Stalnaker, PLLC as an Audit Manager and has been a member of the firm since 1990. Today he provides technical assistance on numerous accounting and audit engagements. He has provided audit and accounting services to entities with revenues ranging from under $100,000 to over $9,000,000,000; industries served include chemical, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, financial institutions, state and local government, not-for-profit, construction, natural resources, and employee benefit plans. Horace has specialized in the non profit and governmental industry, including Single Audits for over 25 years.
